Death's Head Cockroach (Blaberus craniifer)
Named after the striking skull-like pattern on their pronotum, Death's Head Cockroaches are one of the most popular and nutritious feeder insects available for reptile keepers. Large, slow-moving, and unable to climb smooth surfaces, they're as easy to handle as they are to keep.
Why Reptile Keepers Love Them
- Excellent nutritional profile – high in protein and fat, ideal for larger reptiles, monitors, and tarantulas
- Can't climb glass or smooth plastic – no escapees, no stress
- Low odour – far less smell than crickets or locusts
- Long-lived – adults can live 12–18 months, giving you flexibility in feeding schedules
- Soft-bodied nymphs – easier to digest for younger or smaller animals
Suitable For
Bearded dragons, blue-tongued skinks, monitors, large geckos, chameleons, tarantulas, and other insectivores that benefit from a substantial, meaty feeder.
